SPRING 2009 PREVIEW: the 10th annual BIG SUR WEEKEND MINDFULNESS RETREAT! MAY 15, 16, 17, 2009 at the spectacularly beautiful ESALEN INSTITUTE Exploring the Sources of Nourishment and the Taste of Being Fully Alive through silent, contemplative
meals, sensory awareness exercises and Opening to Mindful Presence in Relationship.
|
2009 SPRING PREVIEW: May 15-17, 2009: "MINDFULNESS IN DEEP
RELATIONSHIP: A RETREAT ON THE SOURCES OF NOURISHMENT"
…...a weekend mindfulness retreat: in spectacular Big Sur!
retreat leader: Jerome Front, LMFT
Opening to our most elemental relationship -- that of our body and mind to the natural world through eating, food and our
senses, our process will then widen to include the deep nourishment we receive from being in mindful relationship with each
other. As individuals, we all know the hungers and unrequited longings that co-exist at emotional, spiritual, bodily and
relational levels. Fortunately, these basic needs also form our common human ground. Opening to these primal shared areas
with a loving awareness can create profoundly satisfying aspects of deep relationship. These nourishing and transformative
relational experiences include understanding and being understood, a sense of increased personal presence, and the soothing,
releasing and integrating experience of letting yourself be known in another’s accepting, warm presence. In a mindful
retreat format, we will taste a fuller range of being alive, experience ways of belonging and open to the nourishing possibility
of being at home, more regularly, within the moments of our own life. 10 CEUs for CA MFTs, LCSWs, RNs & Interns. Open to
Everyone.

2009: TBD: Last year: March 13-16,
2008. PSYCHOTHERAPY NETWORKER ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM: Wasington, D.C. www.psychotherapynetworker.org
"THE CLINICAL APPLICATIONS
OF MINDFULNESS: Therapy as a Contemplative Practice" Two-Part Clinical Intensive Presenter: Jerome J. Front,
MFT Location: Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington,
D.C.
|
|
Knowing how to connect deeply with clients is the core of therapy, but this isn't a skill you can learn, much less "practice,"
by reading a book, attending a lecture, or even learning a particular clinical method. These days, many therapists are discovering
(and neuroscience is demonstrating) that mindfulness meditation helps them cultivate the relational skills essential to good
therapy—awareness, compassion, inner attunement, patience, and empathy. In this combination experiential and discussion-based
workshop intended for those new to mindfulness and experienced meditators, the presenter will show how to bring a contemplative
vision to psychotherapy work and approach the therapeutic relationship as a form of "deep practice" of meditation. Through
the experiential part of the workshop, participants will be able to identify and define more precisely their immediate subjective
experience, evaluating their inner process of inquiry with curiosity and self-acceptance. You'll leave the workshop having
discovered ways of applying meditation-based skills in the therapeutic relationship. Contact: www.psychotherapynetworker.org
